Meet the Team Behind the Spot

fernando noriega head shot 300x198 About UsFernando Noriega

Founder
Fernando was born and raised in sunny southern California and now resides in Salt Lake City. He moved to Provo, UT in 2003 for what was supposed to be a college education, instead, he returned to a career in finance as a personal banker for Wells Fargo and then a branch manager for Zions Bank. Taking a break from the professional world, he traveled the country and Caribbean as a flight attendant for Jet Blue before settling down as the National Sales Director for CityDeals.com before starting The Gay Hot Spot.

When not working hard on building the site by attending and throwing great parties, he likes to attend and throw great parties! However, lazy Saturdays at home, or quiet movie nights with friends are just as fun for him. He gets his thrills from driving fast cars and riding faster motorcycles, or terrorizing the Salt Lake Valley with the rest of his scooter gang! Politics are a guilty pleasure and advocacy for the GLBTQ community are a passion. Luckily for him, Utah has a multitude of fantastic organization that allowed him the opportunity to indulge both. He has served on the Board of Directors of Equality Utah and lead the Junior Board of the Utah Pride Center as it’s Chair. He has a passion for unique and original things, even when it comes to the fun, crazy and interesting personalities he’s surrounded himself with along the way. Feel free to say hello to him on Facebook or at any of the TGHS events!
